Understanding Lupus

In the following reports you are going to learn about lupus, and autoimmune diseases in general. Including many things your doctor never told you probably because because he didn't know them. You’ll learn what may be happening to your body when you have lupus. What the underlying causes of it may be. And what may need to be considered in attempting to deal with it. You will have a better understanding of lupus after reading these reports.

Lupus shares much in common with other autoimmune diseases. Research on any particular one usually, but not always, applies to the other autoimmune diseases. They have similar underlying causes and conditions, and consequently similar ways of dealing with them.

The main symptoms that label an autoimmune disease as lupus is inflammation that can be systemic, attacking the whole body or discoid and attacking the skin. A common test for it is the ANA blood test which if positive and you have many of the typical symptoms of lupus, you will be diagnosed as having it. A butterfly rash is a distinctive symptom.

Systemic lupus attacks multiple systems in the body which may include- the skin, joints, blood, lungs, kidneys, heart, brain & nervous system. Symptoms can include- Swelling and pain of the joints, muscle pain and weakness, fatigue, sun-sensitivity, hair loss, "Butterfly" or malar rash (a rash across the nose and cheeks), fever, anaemia, headaches, recurrent miscarriages.

Symptoms of discoid lupus include a variety of different looking skin rashes, photosensitivity, & sometimes mouth or nose ulcers.

Many issues in lupus are common to other autoimmune diseases.

In the following report you will learn about symptoms that you may not necessarily be aware of being related to lupus. Then I will attempt to explain in as comprehensive and understandable a way as possible, the various possible causes of autoimmune diseases, the vast number of problems that develop in your body when you have it, and what to consider in deciding how to combat lupus so you may be able to get healthy again.
